How the Rotary Club Morimondo Abbazia support the enviroment?
The YouGreen project encompasses all activities of the Rotary Club of Morimondo Abbazia, Milan, Italy, devoted to the new area of focus of the Rotary International, i.e., supporting the environment.
Through the YouGreen project, our club undertakes to reduce its carbon footprint during its Rotarian activities and services. Moreover, we will support initiatives aiming at educating younger generations at a more sustainable lifestyle, and promoting study and research in fields related to sustainable development.
By joining the YouGreen project and signing the Climate Pledge you also commit to support and protect the environment and share your experience in making cleaner choices with your club members, family, friends, and colleagues and encourage them to sign the pledge, too.
Supporting the environment becomes a new area of focus of Rotary International
Supporting the environment becomes Rotary’s seventh area of focus, which are categories of service activities supported by global grants. It joins peacebuilding and conflict prevention; disease prevention and treatment; water, sanitation, and hygiene; maternal and child health; basic education and literacy; and community economic development.
Grant applications for projects will be accepted beginning on 1 July 2021. Gifts and commitments from Rotarians and others will be sought to provide global grant support for the new area of focus.
